Home Exchange in Savannah

No verified homes listed in Savannah yet — the first hosts get priority placement.

Savannah moves at the speed of Spanish moss swaying in a humid breeze. The city's grid of oak-canopied squares — each a pocket park framed by townhouses with iron balconies — invites the kind of wandering that hotels can't teach: morning coffee on a stoop watching dog-walkers, evening drinks where jasmine climbs the garden wall. This is a place that rewards the rhythm of errands and evenings, where the best stories happen between River Street's cobblestones and the quiet blocks of the Victorian District. The homes below open the door to that rhythm.

Frequently asked questions

How does home exchange on SwappaHome work?

You list your home, earn 1 credit for every night you host a guest, and spend those credits to stay at any other home in the network — always 1 credit per night. No money changes hands between members. New accounts start with 7 free credits — one full week — so you can book your first trip before you've hosted anyone.

Is it safe to swap homes with strangers?

Every member goes through identity verification before they can list or book. All conversations happen inside the SwappaHome platform — you never have to share your personal email or phone number to coordinate a swap. After each stay, guests and hosts leave mutual reviews — reputation is the foundation of the whole community, and members with low ratings lose access. For extra peace of mind, we recommend confirming house rules in writing before arrival.

Do I need to swap directly with the same person?

No. SwappaHome uses a credit system, not direct 1-to-1 swaps. You can host a family from Berlin and use the credits you earn to stay with a completely different host in Tokyo six months later. It makes travel dates, destinations and group sizes much easier to match.

Can I join if I don't own a home?

Yes — you can earn credits by hosting in a spare room, a long-term rental (if your lease allows guests) or by gifting/receiving credits from other members. You can also buy a starter pack if you want to travel before you host. Listing your primary home is the most common path, but it's not the only one.

Which neighbourhoods in Savannah feel most like local life?

The Historic District draws most visitors, but venture into the Victorian District or Starland for a quieter cadence — front porches, corner grocers, art studios in converted warehouses. Ardsley Park offers tree-tunneled streets and midcentury homes, while the Eastside's Thomas Square feels like a village within the city. Each neighbourhood has its own square or park, a vestige of Savannah's original 1733 grid, so you're never far from shade and a bench.
